St. Mark's

St. Mark’s Lutheran School and Preschool is a Christian school located with three other schools on Buckwheat Rd. in Milford, OH. In 1997, St. Mark’s opened its doors with a few preschool students. Over the next years, the school grew and in 2011 St. Mark’s held its first 8th grade graduation.

Today, chartered by the State of Ohio and a member of the National Lutheran Schools Accreditation, St. Mark’s serves children from more than 30 churches and 11 school districts in the Cincinnati area.

As a Christian school, our educational goals are derived from a Biblical Christian philosophy of education. With small class sizes and support programs that challenge students’ potential, students are encouraged to think critically, make moral decisions about life and act on them as godly servant-leaders.

Most importantly, the students and visitors to our hallways often experience the presence of the Holy Spirit. We often refer to St. Mark’s as the school that connects students with Jesus. That is how the teachers and staff approach our ministry.

As parents of preschoolers know, children this age absorb everything they see and hear like a sponge.  This same sponge soaks up the information that sets the foundation for future learning about faith, ethics, morality and other Christian beliefs.
 
Preschoolers crave security, just like they need their favorite blanky or stuffed animal.  At St. Mark’s, preschoolers feel secure in the knowledge that God loves them. 

This truth is revealed to them throughout the Preschool curriculum, including the following: 

• A literacy-based program with emphasis on pre-reading, writing and language skills across the curriculum;
• Opportunities to participate in school-wide functions such as Grandparents' Day, Family Fun Nights, Christmas programs, and chapels;
• Biblically-integrated learning across the curriculum;
• Character development through daily Bible lessons, prayer, and social interaction;
• Exposure to large and small group activities; and 
• Curriculum that follows Ohio Department of Education early learning content standards.

Our Kindergarten program:

• Allows time to focus on academics and social interactions without being overwhelming;
• Partners with Christian parents to provide a strong academic and spiritual foundation for their children;
• Accesses and identifies learning styles at an early age;
• Includes participation in many elementary activities, such as Christmas programs, Grandparents' Day, Family Fun Nights, and chapels; 
• Provides Field trips & Guest Speakers for learning outside the classroom.
