SOMETHING TO BELIEVE IN
We live in troubled and uncertain times. People are
searching for something to believe in. We have that
something in the Bible. It is God’s true and timeless Word
for people of all ages and backgrounds. People are also
searching for Someone to believe in. We have that someone in
the Lord Jesus. Through his death on the cross and his
resurrection from the dead, we have forgiveness and eternal
life. Sin no longer separates us from God. We can walk with
him on earth and live with him in heaven!

OUR CHURCH AFFILIATION
St. Mark’s Lutheran Church is
one of 6,000 congregations affiliated with The Lutheran
Church— Missouri Synod (LCMS). Our church
body has 2.5 million members located in every state of the
union. We have missionaries in 45 foreign countries around
the world. We support and maintain 1,000
elementary schools, 100 high schools, 10 colleges, and 2
seminaries.
You may have become acquainted with us through our radio
ministry, The Lutheran Hour. The unceasing mission of The
Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod is to “Bring Christ To The
Nations” as Jesus says: “Go and make disciples of all
nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the
Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey
everything I have commanded you” (Matthew 28:19–20).
AN
INVITATION
We invite you to
become a member of our church family and to grow in your
faith relationship with God. We believe in one God in three
Persons—the Father who made us, the Son who saved us, and
the Holy Spirit who brought us to and keeps us in the saving
faith.
THE
CHURCH OF THE OPEN BIBLE
Our Lutheran church can be called “the church of the open
Bible.” All our teachings are based solely on the Bible,
God’s inspired and inerrant Word.
ST.
MARK’S LUTHERAN SCHOOL
Our expanding elementary school offers a quality academic
and Christian education from preschool through sixth grade
by college-educated, state-certified teachers. For more
information, please call the principal, Mr. Reisenbichler,
at 513–575–3354.

RECEPTION INTO MEMBERSHIP
Christ instituted Baptism as
the means of bringing infants to faith in him. That is why
infants are received into membership through the Sacrament
of Holy Baptism (unless, of course, the children have been
baptized previously in a Christian church). All adults who
have never been baptized are normally first instructed in
the Christian faith before their baptism.
Adults are received into membership in one of four ways:
- Transfer—for those who
are members of another congregation of The Lutheran
Church—Missouri Synod.
- Affirmation of
Faith—for those who come from a Lutheran congregation
that is not a member of The Lutheran Church—Missouri
Synod.
- Reaffirmation of
Faith—for those who were confirmed Lutheran but
presently have no church home and desire to re-establish
communicant status.
- Adult Confirmation—for
those who have either no church background or a
non-Lutheran background. This would involve a course of
instruction in the basics of the Christian faith taught
by Pastor Fenker.
Communicant membership is
maintained by those who trust in Jesus as Savior, faithfully
lead a Christian life, attend church, receive the Lord’s
Supper, and support the work of the church with a portion of
their time, talents, and treasures.
ABOVE ALL ELSE
We want all our members to
receive and share the many blessings that our wonderful
Savior has in store for all of us, here on earth and finally
in heaven! |
